Hoda is 1!

Hoda is 1!

I honestly don’t know how one year has just flew by. It feels like just yesterday we brought Hoda home from the hospital. It really is true what everyone says that they grow so fast, you blink and all of a sudden they’re not babies anymore.

Looking back at this past year, I can say that A LOT has changed in our lives obviously, and not always for the better. Everything is centered around Hoda and her naps Ha! But it really is! I decide where and when to go somewhere based on her nap times. I’ve worked extremely hard since Hoda was very little to keep her on a sleep schedule and because of that I’ve had good nights sleep. I didn’t know that I could be obsessed with anything as much as I am obsessed with milk. The constant struggle of breastfeeding and pumping consumed majority of this past year. I’m sure most moms can agree with me here.

Shehab and I are definitely morning people now, or have been forced to become morning people. No more sleeping in until 1:00 in the afternoon or taking naps during the day. Majority of our conversations include what Hoda did today, or what was something new she started doing. Sometimes, at night we contemplate whether we should wake her up so we can play with her lol! When Hoda is taking a nap, I go through all the pictures of her on my phone because I miss her when she’s not awake. Even though our lives have changed, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I believe that everything has it’s time and this was our time to become parents so I am enjoying and embracing every part of it, the good and bad.

In honor of Hoda turning one i’m sharing a few monthly pictures from this past year and a one year family photo shoot we just recently did with my favorite photographer, Ayesha Ahmad

Day 2 (There are no Day 1 pictures because Hoda was rushed to the NICU after delivery)

I absolutely loved the dress I wore for this photo shoot. I got it from HERE .

Hoda’s dress is actually from a consignment shop my cousin and I found called McAdoodle Consignment. The brand of the dress is Janie and Jack. Her headband is handmade by ME! @Cutiebabybows

I’m still contemplating whether I want to write about my crazy birth story but let me know if that’s something you would like to read. I would also love to hear from you guys and your experience as a mom in the first year. Leave a comment below!
