Protein Waffles

Protein Waffles

On the weekends, Shehab and I like to spend a little extra time in the kitchen making breakfast rather than eating a bowl of cereal like we do on the weekdays. On most Saturday’s we make these protein waffles that’s not so loaded with sugar and tastes amazing! The main ingredient for this recipe is the Kodiak Cakes Protein Packed Waffle mix that has 14G protein, 5G fiber and only 3G sugar. I was actually a bit hesitant when Shehab got this because I love waffles the way they are but I decided to give it a try and they’re not bad at all! The box will tell you to just add water but I added a few more ingredients to add a little spice (not literally). Also, for some reason I cannot eat waffles or pancakes without chocolate chips so of course I had to add that in the recipe as well.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Kodiak Cakes Protein Packed waffle mix

1/2 cup water

2 egg whites

1 Tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate chips (optional)

Maple syrup

Directions:

Whisk together the waffle mix, water, egg whites, and vanilla

Pour batter into a heated waffle maker. Sprinkle chocolate chips if desired

Cook until waffle is golden brown and crispy on the edges

Serve hot

Enjoy!

While I like the chocolate chip waffles, Shehab enjoys his with bananas
