Sephora Beauty Insider Sale & Huda Beauty Review

Sephora Beauty Insider Sale & Huda Beauty Review

The annual Sephora Beauty Insider sale started today and that means I can finally justify my make up purchases! Everything is 20% off at Sephora online and in stores. There are so many new products that just came out and I’ve been dying to try them out! Since the sale is only good until Monday 11/12/18, I thought I’d share what I recently purchased and have been loving incase you need a little nudge.

The main things I’ve purchased are some Huda Beauty products including the New Nude eyeshadow palette, the Overachiever Concealer, and the Easy Bake loose powder. There was so much hype over these products on social media so I decided to take the plunge.

New Nude Eyeshadow Palette:

Ok when I first saw this palette, I didn’t care how expensive it was going to be, I just new I had to get it. The pinkish nudes were just calling me. There are so many everyday shades in the palette. I’m kind of glad there aren’t too many shimmer shades because I don’t use shimmer on a regular basis. However, there are 2 different types of shimmer shadows.

One set of shimmer shadows looks like it has large flecks of glitter but when you use your finger to grab some product, you get a nice metallic shimmer. The other 2 sets of glitter eyeshadows are literally glitter. It reminds me of craft glitter that you can pick up at Michaels. With these shimmers you need to have a concealer base on your eyes which is perfect because the palette also comes with a concealer! I actually didn’t know this until after I bought it. It is so handy and blends smoothly on the eyes. You can use this concealer on the eyes before you apply the shimmer shadows.

I have been using this palette non stop since I got it so I would definitely recommend this palette if you’re looking for an everyday eyeshadow palette that has all the neutrals and the glam looks. The price is steep at $65 but that’s what the 20% off sale is for!

The Overachiever High Coverage Concealer:

I saw so many videos and reviews on this concealer so when I went into the store to try it for myself. I didn’t actually buy it until later because I wanted to see how it wears. I purchased the shade ‘Graham Cracker.’ First of all it is definitely full coverage. I applied a very tiny amount under both eyes and it went a long way. The consistency is thicker than some of the other concealers I own but a little bit goes a long way. The tube is unique in which it looks like a vaseline tube or an under eye serum tube but it helps make sure you get the tiniest amount. The blend-ability is great. I used both a beauty blender sponge and a brush and both blended the concealer well. The concealer lasts all day on me and it doesn’t even look like I’m wearing anything which I love! I can get away with applying it without anything else to my face and it still looks very toned.

Overall it’s wonderful and would definitely repurchase. The price is $30 which is comparable to other concealers.

Easy Bake Loose Setting and Baking Powder:

So I usually use the Anastasia Beverly Hill banana powder to set my under eye but that has already hit pan and I’ve been scraping every last bit. I love that setting powder but because I’m out I decided to try another setting powder.

I purchased the Easy Bake setting powder in the shade ‘Banana Bread.’ The first thing I noticed is the strong perfume smell. I mean as soon as I took it out the box I could smell a strong scent that reminded me of a family trip we took to Bahrain almost 20 years ago. Once you get over the smell and actually apply it on on the skin, the perfume smell doesn’t linger which was great otherwise I would have to return it.

The powder is tinted so it is not the typical white translucent powder. I used to set my Huda Beauty concealer and then applied a small amount to the rest of my face to set my foundation. I wore it all day and my make did not budge or look caked on. I have been using the loose powder non stop since I got it. The finish is flawless to be honest. I sometimes use only the powder with no foundation or concealer all over my face and it still gives me a flawless, no cake looking complexion. The concealer and setting powder combination has been my go to recently.

I also love the packaging of the powder. When you open it the bottle, theres a mesh lining inside with tiny holes that keeps all the product in. In some loose powders the lining is so big that as you open the bottle all the powder falls out. I can appreciate this packaging because I only use a small amount and don’t have to worry about it all falling out.

The Easy Bake setting powder is $34 and worth it in my opinion once you get over the strong smell.
