Toddler Bedroom Makeover Week 2 | ORC

Toddler Bedroom Makeover Week 2 | ORC

Hi guys!

It’s week two of the One Room Challenge where I am giving my toddler a room makeover! I talked about all my plans on the previous post that you can find here. This week, I gave the basic white dresser a bit of a fancier look.

Since the color theme of the room is shades of pink and pastel greens, I went with an ombrè effect on the dresser. I was actually inspired by the laundry basket she has that I picked up from Target.

The original dresser is an IKEA Hemnes dresser with three drawers. It is a solid wood dresser that was unfinished meaning I did not have to sand or prime the dresser. I applied the paint directly to the drawers and they went on perfectly.

I picked up 3 sample size paints from Lowe’s. I chose the colors, Utterly Pink (light), Pink Destiny (medium) and Hushed Rose (dark). You could also choose the darkest shade of pink you want and some white paint. Mix the darkest shade with white to get lighter shades as you go. I thought of that idea too late but good reminder.

Next step was just to paint the drawers with a foam roller. By using a foam roller, you can get smooth lines and no brush strokes. I added some fun knobs to the drawers and done! It has a fresh new look that will go beautifully with the rest of the space!

Come back next week where I might finally finalize the wallpaper I’m adding to the space!

Don’t forget to see all the other extremely talented designers taking part in this challenge. There are some awesome spaces being renovated! You can find them all here

XOXO,
