Kitchen Makeover Reveal
REVEAL DAY!!!
How has it been 6 weeks already? I can’t believe it yet I CAN believe it because it was HARD work!
I am in shock that this is my kitchen! My dad and I have been working nonstop for the past 6 weeks transforming this kitchen and it is finally reveal day!
Before we get into it, I have to thank the wonderful sponsors that made all of this happen. Thank you to Jeffrey Court in partnership with Wagner and FrogTape for choosing me as a finalist for the Renovation Challenge! Because of them, I was able to create my dream kitchen!
Before
If you remember, I bought my childhood home earlier this year and my dad, the OG DIYer put a lot of work into this house before I bought it. I basically undid everything and he was totally ok with it!
We started by re-painting the cabinets for a fresh look and then changed out the hardware which made a huge impact in the overall design. The kitchen renovation was a low budget makeover, meaning I was not going to be changing the cabinets, countertops or appliances. I would love to one day but no need to if they are functioning just fine.
What Changed?
So, what did change? The floors, the backsplash, the hardware and an accent cabinet design.
The demo for the floors took ages! The kitchen is fairly large so it took about a full week to get all the old tile off and the cement from underneath. Once we got all that out, it was time to start laying the tile. This also took about a full week. Finally, over the span of 2 days, we laid the new backsplash tile, grouted everything and added the finishing touches .
Ok, and now for the final reveal!
