The 10 Best Things I’ve Bought Hoda

The 10 Best Things I’ve Bought Hoda

I’ve done a post where I talk about some of my lifestyle favorites that include items for the home, kitchen, beauty products, etc so I thought it would be a fun idea to share with you all some of the best things I’ve bought Hoda. I get a lot of interest in some of Hoda’s things because let’s be honest, kids stuff is just the cutest! Here are some of the items that entertain her the most and get the most use:

Smoothie Cup

Recently I’ve been making smoothies for Hoda every morning. It’s a great way to get her to eat her veggies especially the ones that she can’t eat raw like spinach or kale. At first, I would put the smoothie in her sippy cups but she wouldn’t drink from it because she associates her sippy cups with water only. I found this cute smoothie cup with a straw that she is just totally obsessed with. She refers to that cup as “smoothie” and almost always finishes her smoothies. It’s cute and practical, the straw does not come out so there are never any spills.

Skip Hop Back Pack

I got this for Hoda when she was about 11 months old. She absolutely loves this backpack. Every time I look back at her she is putting her valuables in there. Whenever we go somewhere she packs her little backpack with water and toys and is ready to get out the door. I have used it on many trips and flights which is great since she can have all her toys accessible to her. Overall a great purchase!

Melissa and Doug k’s kids

I bought this brand new at the TOT’s consignment shop back in November. I love that it comes with a little lunch bag looking case. Hoda loves any sort of puzzle and this was no different. She is always playing with it and so far it hasn’t gotten old for her.

Paper Towel Game

So this isn’t necessarily something I bought for Hoda but this DIY activity is so simple and fun for her. When I’m in the kitchen cooking, she’s always shooting the caps down the paper towel roll and yelling “WOW!” I used an empty paper towel roll that I taped up to the kitchen island and the caps of baby puree´pouches that I saved up. It’s also a great way to introduce color sorting.

Play Kitchen

What kid doesn’t love a play kitchen? This is the highlight of Hoda’s play area. She is always hovering over it doing something or the other. Her favorite thing to do right now is make mama a cup of coffee. She will grow up to be just like her mama haha! However, my issue with this particular play kitchen is that it’s all plastic and very lightweight. The parts easily come off or don’t fit and it has toppled over a couple of times. For now this play kitchen is fine but eventually I will get a more sturdy one.

Honest Company Products

I’ve been using Honest company products since Hoda was born. From laundry detergents to shampoo and insect repellent spray. They are great on Hoda’s sensitive skin and all their products smell great.

Freshly Picked Moccasins

Okay, I have been obsessed with Freshly Picked Moccasins since forever. I bought Hoda her first pair when she was just 2 months old for her Aqiqah (celebration of the birth of your child). Every time she wore it people would be gawking at it. They are just the cutest thing. Since then I have bought 3 more and Hoda has learned to walk in these shoes. I love that they have soft soles and come in so many different colors and styles. They are so easy to put on and they never fall off the feet.

CutieBabyBows

Hoda gets so many compliments on her hair bows every time she wears one and that makes me happy because I make all of them! If you know me you know I love to DIY just about anything. When Hoda was a couple months old, I needed something to do to pass the time since I was home all day taking care of a newborn. I started making these bows for Hoda and for some friends who had baby girls. At one point I spent all day making bows because it became a good stress reliever. To my surprise, they were a success and every time Hoda wears one I feel accomplished. Since I made so many different bows I started selling them so if you’re interested in taking some off my hands, ( I have way more than Hoda will need) head over to @CutieBabyBows on Instagram and place an order! All the pictures of what I have made are on there!

Kinetic Sand

This is probably hands down the best thing I’ve bought for Hoda…and myself. It’s so satisfying to play with kinetic sand and you can easily spend a couple hours with it. This is the one thing that can keep Hoda entertained for a long time. The best part about it is that it’s mess free so I let her play with it anywhere on the hardwood floors. I do sit with her and play just incase she tries to eat it.

Slime

Slime > Playdough. Hoda is too young to be playing with playdough so I thought this was a great alternative. It’s a good sensory play and this particular slime is mess free. It always stays in tact and I don’t have to watch her when she is playing with it. This also keeps her entertained for a long time.
