Art Themed Eid Party

Art Themed Eid Party

Belated Eid Mubarak everyone! I hope your Ramadan went well and that everyone had a great Eid filled with sweets and presents! We had a great Eid weekend this year! After Eid prayer we went for breakfast with the Hady family and then met up with my family in the evening for lunch and tons of gifts for the kids! During the weekend, we hosted a kids Eid party for all of Hoda’s friends and it couldn’t have gone better!

Even before Hoda was born, we have always wanted to do something where all the kids can get together and enjoy a day celebrating Eid. We want Hoda to grow up in a strong community of friends and family and want her to look forward to events like these every year. I’m so glad this year’s event was a success with all the kids and their parents and can’t wait to continue this tradition in the years to come!

This year’s theme for the Eid party was Art. One night before Ramadan, for some reason I decided to drink a cup of strong coffee before going to bed. I was basically wired all night long and wide awake in my bed until 4:00am. Since my brain was so wired I decided to start planning the Eid party on my phone and came up with Art themed party. I planned nearly everything from food to decor, guest list and activities, etc. It was pretty great in my head and the party turned out exactly how I had pictured it. I learned two things that night. 1 don’t drink coffee at night and 2 all the best ideas come when I’m trying to sleep!

Here are all the pictures from the party. I have linked where I got all the items from and what I did with everything. I hope you enjoy this post and it gives you ideas for your next party!

We held our party outdoors at a park with a pavilion that could fit over 100 people. The pavilion provided great shade from the 90 degree weather and it had plenty of seating for everyone.

The main activity for this art themed party was the ‘paint your own birdhouse.’ I set up the entire table with aprons, birdhouses, paint brush, paint palette and paint.

The birdhouses were from Joann Fabrics and everything else was bought on Amazon.

I set the second row of tables using a roll of white paper to cover the top of the table. I put crayons in plastic buckets and placed those on the tables for kids to draw on.

The last row of tables were simpler with rainbow colored balloons as center pieces. The balloons said Eid Mubarak on them though you can’t see it in this picture. I bought the balloons on Etsy from SabahDesigns

What party is complete without favors?! I got these super cute tote bags that match the aprons and filled them with some chocolate. These bags were big enough to hold the birdhouses that the kids took home with them.

We also set up a tent on the outside of the pavilion with a picnic blanket underneath for moms with infants. I put some of Hoda’s infant toys for the kids to play with. I wanted kids of all ages to feel included and thankfully the weather cooperated for this idea.

Another activity set up for the kids was balloon animals and face painting. A huge hit!

And lastly, the kids enjoyed the Piñata

Hoda and I matching as usual and greeting our guests!

We had an awesome time hosting and enjoying the party! I would look over at Hoda every so often and she was just happy as can be painting, getting balloon animals and running around on the field. We hope to keep this tradition going every year and can’t wait to see what we come up with next year!
