Newborn Must-Haves Second Time Around

Newborn Must-Haves Second Time Around

Wow where has the past 3 months gone?! Now that baby boy Ayub is 3 months old, I have compiled a list of items I found useful for the newborn stage. Being a first time mom over 3 years ago, there were a ton of items I had but didn’t end up using. This time around, I had a more minimalistic approach.

The items listed are some new products I discovered and loved. I shared a post of my top 10 baby items a while back that you can check out HERE as well as a post of the baby items I regret buying. You can check that out HERE. This list includes the items that I discovered later and absolutely loved for the newborn phase second time around.

Newborn Must Haves- Second Time Around

Halo Bassinet– The best thing about this bassinet is that it swivels and is very sturdy. Having a c-section, it was ideal to not have to get off the bed to grab the baby every feed. The height can be adjusted to fit the height of the bed which I appreciate because we have an extremely high bed.

Dock- A- Tot– This has been working great for us when we need to put the baby down to sleep but want him on different floors of the house. We also use this in our bed if I want to co-sleep. This came in handy as soon as I was discharged from the hospital and too much movement was painful, I kept the baby in the dock-a-tot and put it next to me on the bed.

Tubby Todd Bath Products– So the Tubby Todd bath products have been my absolute favorite in terms of clean, all natural ingredients, the scent and variety of products they offer. I purchased the newborn bundle which includes the body wash/shampoo, body lotion and all over ointment. I then separately ordered the lavender chest rub, mineral sunscreen stick and detangling hair spray. All of these products have been AMAZING. The all over ointment got rid of Ayub’s cradle cap instantly and the detangling spray is the only thing that keeps away knots in Hoda’s hair. I 100% recommend these products especially since they are all 100% natural.

Blooming Baby Bath– It’s a lot easier to give a tiny baby a bath in the sink rather than a tub. I felt that using the tub was a little less stable for a newborn so I opted for the blooming baby bath and it holds him pretty well where I don’t have to worry about holding his neck.

Homedics Handheld Massager– A little hack I learned from the lactation consultant in the NICU was that if you have a clogged duct while breastfeeding or pumping, use this handheld massager to unclog the duct. It has worked SO well so far that I carry it with me to work just incase lol! This $5 hack is so worth it!

Frigidaire Mini Fridge– If you’re a pumping mama, then you know that the night time pumps are a pain in the a$$. The entire process is so daunting from pumping to cleaning the parts to refrigerating the milk etc. I invested in this $20 mini fridge that I keep next to my pumping table and it has been the best decision ever! I no longer have to go up and down the stairs in the middle of the night (especially post c-section) to refrigerate a bottle. And now Dada is easily able to grab a bottle and feed the baby at night time!
